Travel to Hampi
Bangalore: At a total distance of 350 km, follow this route down the NH4 until Chitradurga, then taking a right-hand turn onto the NH13 until reaching Hopset. Drive another 13 kms to reach Hampi. Note: traffic may increase around the NH13 area. Be cautious of road conditions after Chitradurga.
Hyderabad: At a total distance of 360 km, follow the NH7 until arriving at Jadcharla X-Road, turning right until reaching Raichur. From here, follow the Karnataka State Highway 20 and turn left after 10 kms onto Karnataka State Highway 23 to Sindhanoor for the final 15-25 km stretch. Note: be cautious of potholes and road conditions near Andhra Pradesh.
Mumbai: At a total distance of approximately 800 km, travel up the NH4, exiting at Sangli/Miraj. Follow the Athni-Bijapur, avoiding short cuts on this route. Note: tourist destinations Badami, Pattadakkal and Aihole are located along the way, adding two days to the journey if desired. Hampi can be reached by next day if not interested in exploring.

Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation: The KSRTC provides daily buses to Hospet from the cities of Bangalore, Mysore and Gokarna. Leaving Hopset, you can reach Hampi on a local bus for a cost of Rs 10. Tickets can be booked in advance for coach buses or air-conditioning.
Private bus companies: Private conductors also provide their services from most locations in Goa and Gokarna, which operate an overnight bus to Hampi. Note: there are no direct return buses from Hampi. Departing from Hampi requires taking a local bus or taxi to Hospet, and traveling back via private bus from there.

Train
Hospet Junction, the closest local railway station to Hampi is located 13 kms away. This station provides overnight trains running several times a week from cities such as Bangalore, Hyderabad and Goa.
Trains are much cheaper (with the added bonus of more comfort) than the provided tourist buses. Featuring air-conditioning and a bed bunk with linen, trains running from Bangalore to Hampi cost 75o Rs. Overnight trains are also available from Mysore to Hubli, and then from there to Hospet/Hampi.
Air
The closest airport is located in Hubli, serving both direct and connecting domestic flights for travelers arriving and departing from Hampi.
