Transport in Hampi
Auto rickshaw
Auto rickshaws are available to tour you around the city, making sightseeing a lot easier than having to climb Hampi’s various hills. Rates either are bargained for a one way/return trip, or a flat rate (Rs 400-500) can be provided for a full day tour.
Professional Karnataka Travel guides are also available for hire at Rs 500 for four hours or Rs 800 for eight hours. Travel companies will provide you with details, packages and discounts.
Taxi and Car
Renting a car is one of the most expensive options in Hampi, normally charging Rs 750-1000 for a single day of sightseeing. It is advised to look into deals on auto rickshaws for the longer distances that are not within walking ability.
Two-wheelers:
Motorcycles are one of the most used methods of transportations in Hampi, as the sights are quite breathtaking and walking to points of interest can be lengthy (5km +). Guides are also available to ride on the back with you if needed for an additional charge.
Motorcycles are more expensive than auto rickshaws but provide you with the freedom to travel wherever you’d like, on the time schedule that you’d like. A scooter or kinetic Honda will cost Rs 150 a day (not including fuel), and a 100CC motor bike costs roughly Rs 200.
